RR Dems News and Events – September 17, 2026

The polls are promising, but…

We’ve seen the polls, and many are looking optimistic. It’s tempting to think, “Maybe they don’t need me.” And I get it—fall is busy, and there’s always something competing for our time. But between now and November, we know that the Republicans will be pouring money into their candidates and blanketing the airwaves with attack ads.  And we need you more than ever, in whatever way you can.   

Volunteer if you can, attend a fundraising event if you can afford to, but most importantly start having those sometimes difficult conversations with your friends, family and neighbors who might be undecided.

Highlights for the Week

Literature Stuffing, Folding, Addressing Help Needed! – September 18

Help fold, stuff and address literature for the upcoming turnout project. Help us to introduce new precinct leaders to our city and to encourage voting by mail. We’re putting together both letters and packets that will go out to voters next week as the first part of our effort to increase voter turnout in Rocky River.

Get to Know the Candidate – League of Women Voters Candidate Events

Introducing our Get Involved Web Page

With the midterms just around the corner, we want to make it as easy as possible to stay up to date and get involved. This week, we launched our new Get Involved page, bringing campaign events, activities, and volunteer opportunities together in one place—and giving our weekly newsletter a fresh, simpler format, too!

Both are works in progress, so you may see things change and grow over the next few weeks. We’re still adding information to the new page, so be sure to check back often as you make your weekend plans!

Rocky River Dems/West Shore Dems August Meeting

Instead of our regular monthly meeting, the Democratic clubs of Westlake, Bay Village, Fairview Park, and North Olmsted—the Westshore Dems—came together for an inspiring evening of speakers and engagement. In addition to U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and David Pepper, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, there was a wide group of candidates and party leaders from across the county.

OhioWins Training and Canvassing Events

The Ohio Dems continue to build momentum and support for Democratic candidates in our area!

Join the Ohio Democratic Party for our canvass launch as they continue their summer organizing and voter engagement program.
