Talking face-to-face with prospective voters has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to get the word out about candidates and issues that are important to you. New to canvassing? Most groups offer training and will pair you with buddy to help you get started! There are several groups hosting events throughout the area including Ohio Wins, Mobilize the Vote NEO and more. Individual candidates also host events throughout the campaign season. Check out the consolidated calendar below:

Sunday September 27

Bay Village Canvass with Brian Poindexter

Ohio Wins will be staffing events in Rocky River all throughout September and October!

They are also looking for volunteers to help staff these, and spaces to host them.

Canvass Launch Roles:

  • Staging Location Director: General overseer of the canvass launch. Makes sure launch is running smoothly, and reports information to campaign leadership
  • Canvass Captain: Assigns turf (walking lists) and organizes the consolidated report
  • Training Captain: Trains volunteers on basics of canvassing and Minivan
  • Sign-in/Confirm Captain: Signs in volunteers and calls to confirm attendance
  • Debrief/Reshift Captain: Talks with volunteers post-canvass shift, and gets them signed up for the next one!
  • Greeter/Floater: Helps with any general questions, assists with lit bundling and distribution/whatever the Staging Location Director needs
